April Rally Results

Twenty-one teams entered Cascade Sports Car Club’s second event in the 2024 Saturday Rally Series on April 20. The No Foolin’ rally was a fun cruise across Willamette Valley farmland into the foothills of the Cascades ending in Estacada. The 100-mile course took a bit over three hours to complete, including a mid-rally break in Hubbard. Some simple rally puzzles provided amusement.

2024 Season Standings

May 25 Saturday Series Rally 

The next Cascade road rally is May 25. Rallymasters Monte and Victoria Saager are planning a fun romp amongst the crimson clover fields of Washington County. The rally is about 90 miles long from the start in northwest Portland to the finish in Midway. It takes a bit over three hours to complete, including a scenic mid-rally break.

The May rally is the third of six in the Saturday Road Rally Series. Teams who run three or more of the six rallies are eligible for Series Awards. 

Cascade Sports Car Club's Road Rally program (aka Cascade Geargrinders) offers beginner-friendly time-speed-distance road rallies, lasting three to four hours, starting and ending in the Portland area. These events are open to club members and non-members, and to all types of vehicles. Road rally is a game you play while going for a drive in the country.

Rally School  - Start the season with a virtual review of TSD road rally rules and procedures on Friday evening. Then run a practice road rally on Saturday morning to test your driving skills and navigational knowledge.

Saturday Rally Series - Compete for Series awards. Best five of six finishes count toward Series points.  To be eligible to win a season award, run at least three Series events.

Mountains to the Sea - Enjoy a full-day tour-style rally, following a fun to drive scenic route, starting in Portland and ending at the Pacific Ocean (probably Cannon Beach).

Ghouls Gambol - Cascade's Halloween daytime road rally explores autumn-colored foothills and farmland along scenic country roads. This easy time-speed-distance road rally takes about three hours to complete, including a mid-rally break. Expect treats and maybe some tricks. Prizes for top rally finishers and best decorated cars.

Entry Fee:

All rallies except Mountains to the Sea:

$25 per car for CSCC members
$35 per car for non-members

Mountains to the Sea:

$60 per car for CSCC members
$85 per car for non-members

Save with a Series Pass. $150. Includes entry in Rally School and all six Saturday Series rallies. Register just once to enter all seven events. Run the same car number with the same start time at each rally. Available to CSCC members only. CSCC membership is available online.

Save more with a Season Ticket. $210 for a 9-event season ticket. Includes all benefits and events in the Series Pass, plus entry in Mountains to the Sea and Ghouls Gambol. Available to members only.  CSCC membership is available online.

2024 Cascade Geargrinders road rallies:

Cascade Geargrinders road rallies are beginner friendly time-speed-distance events, starting and ending in the Portland area. Rallies are about 100 miles long and take three to four hours to complete. First car starts at 10:01 a.m.

Online registration is required:

Entry requires a street-legal vehicle, a licensed and insured driver, a navigator, and a smart device (cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app (app is free).

Rallies are conducted in accordance with the current Road Rally Rules.
